Parenting can be a challenge on many levels. While living our hectic lives, it can be easy to lose sight of what is important. Mindful parenting stresses the importance of paying attention to what is of value in our relationship with our children. Coaching in mindfulness techniques can allow parents to be still during moments of intense frustration or irritation. Moreover, our children learn from our example! Practicing mindful communication will change the way our children learn to communicate. Just as our children’s well- being affects us, our well-being affects our children. Mindfulness-based parenting techniques also enhance our sense of connection with our children, which in turn promotes compassion and self-awareness.
